FULL-TIME

What level is needed for the Full-Time Academy?

We use the Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) for all facets of the program. Our full-time players vary from 7-13 UTR and all have open-level tournament experience, however, there are some exceptions. We provide evaluations to determine their level and compatibility with our academy.

When are the students in "school"?

Students attend Academy Learning Center from 8-11:30 AM, Monday-Friday. Study hall is 7-9:30 PM, with supervision.

How much homework will be required during evenings/weekends?

Outside of the Academy Learning Center hours, study hall runs Thursday-Sunday, 7-9:30 PM. The amount of school work varies with each student. Students who maximize their learning time each morning and are highly organized will find they only need minimal time outside of the classroom to complete assignments. The amount of time will vary depending on each student’s study habits, foundational knowledge, and level of classes taken. Students taking Honors/AP level courses can expect to complete work outside of the classroom in order to excel in these classes. Students traveling for tournaments can minimize make-up work by planning ahead and bringing a computer with them while traveling. Students are encouraged to work closely with parents and coaches to plan out upcoming travel schedules so they can work ahead prior to travel.

How does ACADEMY LEARNING CENTER prepare students for college?

The goal of the Academy Learning Center is to provide a structured, supportive learning environment for independent study students. Individualized instruction, program coordination and student accountability will be our primary focus. By providing individualized instruction and support for each Academy student, we seek to provide an optimal educational experience.

What colleges/universities have students from JBTA/ACADEMY LEARNING CENTER been accepted to?
